Book Review The Romanov Empress by C.W. Gortner

The Romanov Empress is a fictional story based on the life of Empress Maria Feodorovna and narrated by the mother of Russia's prior tsar. Empress Maria Feodorovna was the Princess Dagmar of Denmark before marrying the heir to the Russian throne. She goes by "Minnie" and her tale starts of when she is nineteen.

This story was fascinating and I was fascinated with the whole tale but I loved how the author gave the reader the right feel of the setting of that time period in Russia. It had everything from lavish living, to the Russian royal jewels and the culture to disease and war. This story was just absolutely amazing. I enjoyed following the Empress life in Russia from the palace to saving their empire. The Empress had to face many struggles throughout the book but she proved herself to be a resilient and determined woman and an even bolder leader. Especially, as she has to witnesses the collapse of the Romanov dynasty and try to hold her family together. The book is a page turner from the politics, to the strong family bonds that include inner family drama with trickery. It is well written and I recommend this book to all including those who love to read period pieces.

Book Review DC Essential Graphic Novels 2017

I Recommend This Book Strongly I enjoyed going through this. It was a great guide to know and having the knowledge of what comics were starting new in the rebirth and having a description of the comic along with its title and release date is incredible. I enjoyed that it also had comics from both DC and Vertigo listed. I liked the collectibles page. And I really appreciate the recommended list for reading order. I plan on using that. I think this is a great and useful guide for comic lovers!

Book Review Disney Manga: The Princess and the Frog

So for one, I am really happy that this is a manga. I am so excited. But I am disappointed in the lack of skin color. Everyone is white. Like just paper white that all. There is no diversity. The only thing colored is hair and eyebrows. I have seen a manga with dark skin characters they could have done that with this. But that was my only issue. The manga sticks to the story from the Disney movie and adds some insight which I really enjoyed. The manga though was short but covered everything from the movie. It was just as sweet and cute as the movie was. I hope many enjoy it!

Book Review Sci-Fu by Yehudi Mercado

I Recommend This Book Strongly I really enjoyed reading the comic. It kept my interest the whole way through. I loved how he is a middle schooler but a struggling Dj trying to get the girl. The artwork is incredible. The drawings are colorful and creative. The only problem is that the comic had some areas that were in and out of English to Spanish in those parts of the book it was confusing. Especially when the page has no translation to English. Other then that nothing wrong. This is a great comic, especially for African American boys. They will especially like it. Can’t wait for book two!
